Founded on the longtime friendship and collaboration between Beverly Hannah and Joel Smith dating back to the ‘90s, Hannah–Neumann/Smith brings together Hannah Architects and Neumann/Smith Architecture to serve clients across the city. This Detroit-based, woman-owned Minority Business Enterprise invests in the city’s continued revitalization and designs spaces that reflect its spirit and future.

Hannah Architects was founded in 1993 by Beverly Hannah Jones, AIA, one of the first licensed African American women to own an architecture firm in Michigan.
Committed to Detroit’s revitalization, the firm provides architecture and interior design services for projects across the entertainment, education, healthcare, corporate, community, and hospitality markets.
Neumann/Smith is a team of creative problem solvers committed to pushing boundaries. Since 1968, the firm has delivered architecture, interior design, and planning services across the country.
With a portfolio spanning high-rises, mixed-use developments, retail spaces, and historic renovations, Neumann/Smith brings a unique perspective to every project.
