Lear Corporation purchased the historic Brown Bros Cigars Building at 119 State Street to house an innovation and design studio for vehicle connectivity solutions. Hannah-Neumann/Smith reimagined this building to become a hub for art, creativity, and automotive advance concept development, as well as hands-on learning for Detroit college students.

Located in the historic Capitol Park neighborhood in downtown Detroit, Lear saw the 119 State Street building as an opportunity for a high impact automotive-centric project at the heart of the Motor City.
